Mineralization

Optimize your fertilizer investment while growing healthier plants and enjoying a greater yield.

What happened?

It’s the end of harvest. As you comb through the data, you chalk up a bad yield to a rough year. Little rain, high heat in the early months, and overall poor conditions.  You say you can’t control the weather. And you are right.  But you can make a difference in the health of your plants, and it starts in your soil.

What is it?

At the end of a bad year, you may have heard your agronomist tell you that there wasn’t enough mineralization in the soil. But what does that mean? And how do you fix it?

Mineralization is the breakdown of organic matter into available nutrients that the plant can take up to increase health.  In ideal conditions, mineralization occurs at a standard rate. But how many years are the conditions completely ideal?

What can I do?

Mineralization depends on a proper carbon to nitrogen ratio in the soil, typically sustained through ideal soil conditions that allow the organic material to break down and the microbes to take in extra nutrients.  Our liquid carbon-based fertilizers and biologicals help keep that ratio in balance by providing the plant with carbon in the form of domestically sourced sugar cane molasses that your crops are going to love!  Sugar cane molasses has three main dissolved sugars, as well as many other micro- and macronutrients, allowing it to be readily available for optimized plant uptake, while still providing the extra nutrients your plants need.

So you can’t control the weather, but with our products you can work to mimic the ideal conditions your plants need.  Are you ready to take control?
